Acoustic detectors have been developed in order to detect the voices of people trapped under debris in disasters such as mine accidents and earthquakes and to facilitate their rescue. Sounds are detected, filtered and visualized sensitively, and thanks to the headphone output, sounds that people cannot hear can be heard.

  • The device consists of 6 wired probes and a control unit. The wired probes are placed in a specific pattern on the debris and detect vibrations under the debris with their sensitive receivers. The detected vibrations are amplified and filtered from noise using signal processing units. Control unit displays the processed signals on a TFT screen in amplitude-frequency, amplitude-time, and frequency-time graphs, depending on the user's selection.
  • It transmits the detected sounds to the operator audibly through headphones.
  • The system can analyze each probe both synchronously and asynchronously.
  • The communication unit can be suspended into the debris, enabling communication between the operator and the area beneath the debris.
